Defective Tire Accident Lawyers

On August 9, 2000, Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. announced a recall of nearly 7,000,000 Firestone ATX, Firestone ATX II, and Wilderness AT tires linked to more than 200 deaths and 700 injuries in the United States.

The problems arising from Firestone tires, in conjunction with certain Ford Motor Company models, have received tremendous media attention over the past years. As the legal repercussions continue to mount for both companies, the pain continues to be felt by victims nationwide. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed against Ford and Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. (a unit of Japan's Bridgestone Corp.) on behalf of people injured or killed in accidents involving Firestone tires on Ford Explorers. To date, Ford has settled less than half of the lawsuits out of court and is expected to settle many more pending cases. The government has been investigating more than 3,500 complaints about the tires. Ford claims the problems are related to the tires alone, while Bridgestone/Firestone maintains that Ford shares in the blame.

If you or a loved one has been seriously injured in a traffic accident due to a tire defect or defective Firestone Tire blowout, you should consult with an experienced automobile accident lawyer.
